Rapid Response is the only global facility that provides rapidly deployable
experts to investigate international crimes and serious human rights violations
and to enable a holistic, gender-sensitive, and inclusive approach to justice.
Samuel Emonet is a Swiss citizen born on 15 June 1974. After becoming a
lawyer at the Geneva bar, he worked from 2000 to 2015 for the International
Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). During these years, he has developed
extensive field and managerial experience focused on the protection of persons
affected by armed conflicts in countries such as Afghanistan, Rwanda, Iraq,
Georgia, Lebanon and Mali. His field of expertise includes the documentation
and reporting of violations of international humanitarian law with the ICRC. He
joined Justice Rapid Response in 2016 as Director of Operations and was appointed
Executive Director in 2022. Samuel holds a law degree from the University of
Geneva and a Master’s degree in International and European Law from the
University of Bremen.
