Together with Missions, International Organisations, and NGOs in Geneva, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) is bringing SEVEN to the Palais de Nations the week before the Human Rights Council on women’s rights.
SEVEN has toured 42 countries and has been a transformative tool, bringing together activists, politicians, refugees, celebrities and business leaders, to advance women's rights. The play documents the true testimonies of seven courageous women from seven countries, and through emotional engagement and strategic communications, achieves social change that laws and policies alone cannot.
The aim in bringing the reading to Geneva is to seize the opportunity created by the #metoo campaign and bring international leaders together in the global hub for human rights to promote a culture of dignity and respect: Safe Spaces at all levels of society. High profile readers are already engaged and the opera singer Barbara Hendricks, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, will be opening the event.
This will take the place of the regular weekly Rotary Club meeting.
