The International Campaign to Ban Landmines is a global network of non-governmental organizations, active in around 100 countries, that works for a world free of antipersonnel landmines, where landmine survivors can lead fulfilling lives.
In 1997 the ICBL and its coordinator Jody Williams were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their crucial role in banning landmines.
The ICBL works on universalization and implementation of the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty. The MBT prohibits use, stockpiling, production and transfer of landmines. The treaty also requires its members to provide assistance to landmine victims.
ICBL advocates for a mine free world.
