world - Public Lecture & Finger Food
DESCRIPTION:The International Campaign to Ban Landmines is a global networ
 k of non-governmental organizations\, active in around 100 countries\, tha
t works for a world free of antipersonnel landmines\, where landmine survi
vors can lead fulfilling lives.\n\nIn 1997 the ICBL and its coordinator J
ody Williams were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their crucial role in
banning landmines.\n\nThe ICBL works on universalization and implementati
on of the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty. The MBT prohibits use\, stockpiling\, prod
uction and transfer of landmines. The treaty also requires its members to
provide assistance to landmine victims.\n\nICBL advocates for a mine free
world.\nRelatore/i: Firoz Alizada is Camapaign and Communication Manager a
t ICBL-CMC (International Campaign to Ban Landmines-Cluster Munition Coali
